MESSAGE FROM FOUNDER/CEO

Green Care Habitat was founded in 2001 but it was not until April 2003 when the organization was finally registered under section 10 of the Non Governmental Organization Coordination act.

GRECAH was founded with an initial core objective of addressing Environmental Conservation and Management for better sustainable development. With Kenya being an agro -based economy whose society’s livelihood rotates around agriculture, it has been over the time adversely affected by lack of enough rains, regular floods and prolonged periods of droughts hence resulting to famines and food shortage. GRECAH was just on the right track by joining other Organizations in the fight against desertification as it was the issue of major concern.

But as things were never to be like before when getting donor funding was easy. Donor funding has always remained a tall ask for us in trying to get the organization grow on donor funding

Green Care Habitat has embarked on an ambitious program that will see one million trees planted in most schools, homes and public places countrywide by the year 2012.
Green Care Habitat (GRECAH) is a local NGO established in 2001 and registered under Kenya’s NGO Act (Reg.No. OP. 218/051/2003/023/2540) in April 2003 to simultaneously propagate issues of environmental conservation and management; HIV/AIDS awareness and management; and promotion of poverty alleviation initiatives.

GRECAH is working strategically to become an organization working across a broad spectrum on well being of mankind, but centered at environmental sustainability as strategic initiative to help our country be able to achieve economic, cultural and social benefits.

Kindly help Conserve and Manage our Environment, Fight HIV/AIDS and other Social Health vices spread and Reduce Poverty by adopting a Tree or a Mini Forest in a School or a New Forest Reserve in a Constituency or District in Kenya when you buy any of the booklets on HIV/AIDS and other social health vices for Pupils/Students and other members of the Public under our Books for Trees Initiative Project -BOTIP. A tree will be planted and taken care of in your honour after you donate.
